Clan Grant of Strathspey have several associated tartans that include the Black Watch, but the colourful sett featured on this notebook has a military origin as Sir James Grant raised two regiments in the late 18th century. The Grant name is probably the most famous by its whisky connection. In 1887 William Grant built the distillery of the now world-famous Glenfiddich whisky.
