Okra is an important vegetable crop and is widely grown all over the world. Such a major vegetable crop is heavily infested by about 72 different insect pests during its period with huge yield losses upto 80%. Farmers use chemical fertilizers to enhance the crop productivity. This leads to soil toxicity which disturbs the soil micro flora and natural regenerative capacity of soil is getting impaired. Also, farmers use chemical pesticides to manage the insect pests that has created many problems such as insecticide resistance, pest resurgence, outbreak of secondary pests, problem of pesticide residues, etc. This book presents the work that has immense application in eco-friendly and economical pest management to develop the management strategies for insect pests of okra. In this book, the research work involving the impact of organic manures on infestation of insect pests as well as natural enemies, plant growth characters and bio-pesticidal management of the insect pests is illustrated along with suitable photographs and tables. The information can be best exploited by organic farming community, biological control scientists and IPM practitioners.
