Dr. Don George Geojan is a junior resident in the department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics under the guidance of Dr. Vaibhav Misra at Divya Jyothi (D.J) College of Dental Sciences and Research Centre. He is a member of Indian Orthodontic Society (IOS). He has been part of many national and international conferences and conventions.
The technique used in todays orthodontics involves metal or elastomeric ligature to attach an archwire to a bracket. Ligating the archwire to the bracket slot in this way can be quite time consuming and that is why self-ligating brackets were developed. These brackets hold the archwire in the bracket slot and replaces the steel/elastomeric ligature.So this book attempts to discuss the insight depth regarding the usefulness of SLB. The long, slow, yet quickly accelerating ascend to noticeable quality of self-ligation has accordingly brought up a plenty of bracket design, treatment procedure, and treatment objectives. Thus, with continued research and developments it is believed self-ligating systems are going to replace the cumbersome ligating systems in future.
