Produktbeschreibung

Autor/Autorin: Halaoui Hatem

Hatem HalaouinPh.D. in Computer Science, Graduate Center at the City nUniversity of New York.nAssistant Professor in Computer Science at Haigazian University, nLebanonnAuthor of more than 15 publications: book chapters, journal and nconference papers.nResearch Interests: Spatial, Temporal, and Spatio-Temporal ndatabase modeling and indexing .
The book presents a variety of approaches in the fields of spatial, temporal and spatio-temporal database modeling and indexing. Chapter 2 presents spatial database modeling and a selection of approaches in that direction. Also chapter 3 introduces temporal database modeling and later spatio-temporal modeling as a combination of spatial and temporal modeling. Chapter 4 discusses approaches for indexing spatial data. Similarly, chapter 5 adds a time dimension to spatial indexing and presents approaches for spatio-temporal indexing. Chapter 6 presents AIRSTD*, a selected approach for retrieving and indexing spatio-temporal databases. In Chapter 6 we discuss a future view of the famous "Google Earth” application as a real time applicable example of all theoretical material presented in this book. Finally, a brief overview and summary of the book are presented in chapter 7.
