Produktbeschreibung

Autor/Autorin: Liu Hao-Chih

Dr. Hao-Chih Liu (Bernard) received M.S. in Materials Sciencenand Engineering (2000) and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering (2004)nfrom Stanford University, USA. His work was recognized by thenInstitution of Mechanical Engineers (UK) with A. M. StricklandnPrize (2006). Prof. Liu is now an assistant professor atnNational Cheng Kung University, Taiwan.
This book provides valuable information on the makingof complex-shape monolithic energy devices. Theauthor discussed a new technology that combined rapidprototyping techniques and ceramic gelcastingprocesses in the design and manufacturing of advancedstructural ceramic components that cannot befabricated by other shape-forming processes. Thefabricated micro gas turbine rotors, micro inletnozzles, mesoscale burner arrays, and micro heatexchangers have demonstrated superior shape accuracy, mechanical strength, and surface smoothness with afeature size less than 200 um. The design conceptsand functionalities of the ceramic devices wereverified with performance tests. The shapecomplexity and surface quality of monolithic ceramicparts have been further improved through the use ofnovel mold assembly methods and new materials. Acomplete shape forming process (from slurry to finalfunctional parts) was developed and introduced.
