The published proceedings of the latest triennial conference of the Société de Linguistique Romane (and the first to have been held in Britain) contain c. 200 papers, arranged in fourteen sections: 1. Romance linguistics and lingustic theory, 2. Philology and the new media: textual editions, corpus linguistics, computer analysis of languages, 3. Romania nova, 4. Linguistic policies in Romania minor, 5. Language of early texts (from the origins to the eighteenth century), 6. Anglo-Norman, 7. Late Latin, 8. Sociolinguistics, 9. Grammaticography, 10. Text linguistics and pragmatics, 11. Lexicology and lexicography, 12. Regional variation in national languages and vernacular dialects, 13. Derivational morphology, 14. Grammar and toponymy. These are accompanied by three plenary papers and by two Round Table discussions on bibliographical questions. The papers offer a panorama of both novel and traditional themes of Romance linguistics and provide an important up-to-date survey of current work in the field.
Les Actes du congrès le plus récent de la Société de Linguistique Romane (et du premier à avoir eu lieu en Grande-Bretagne), sous la présidence de Günter Holtus, réunissent environ 200 communications par les plus spécialistes les plus éminents d'une trentaine de pays du monde entier, réparties dans 14 sections: 1. A ces communications s'ajoutent trois conférences plénières (M. Maiden, E. Ridruejo, L. Renzi) et deux Tables Rondes sur des questions bibliographiques. L'ensemble offre un panorama de thèmes traditionnels et récents de la linguistique romane, et fournit une perspective importante sur les recherches actuelles poursuivies au sein de la discipline, avec des compléments bibliographiques indispensables et des renseignements sur des projets actuellement en cours. Les communications sont rédigées en français, en italien, en espagnol, en portugais, en roumain.
