Algae presents a viable biofuel alternative because the production of algae for fuel, unlike other agro-based biofuels, does not compete with food production. This book covers algae-based biofuel options and discusses the design and economic viability of algal bioenergy co-production concepts.
Microalgae Biotechnologies...Possible frameworks from Biofuel to Biobased Products. Use of Wastewater to improve the economic feasibility of Microalgae-based biofuels. Biodiesel production from Microalgae. Biorefinery approach to the use of macroalgae as feedstock for biofuels. Thermochemical treatment. Ethanol production from macroalgae biomass.
