Seeing oneself in the story shapes capacity for participation in the story. Henry Masters has had a persistent and enduring interest in and passion for Black presence in the Bible and African shaped Christian spirituality. By giving voice and face to Simon of Cyrene, he invites us to share this intellectual and spiritual quest. Embracing it can breathe new life into persons, churches and communities.
