Produktbeschreibung

Enriches understanding of the underlying physics of processes involved in droplets and spray dynamic models

Treats both theoretical and practical aspects of internal combustion engine processes, such as the direct injection of liquid fuel, subcritical heating and evaporation

Includes case studies that illustrate the approaches relevance to automotive applications, it is also anticipated that the described models can find use in other areas such as in medicine and environmental science

Sergei Sazhin, is Professor of Thermal Physics at the University of Brighton (UK). He completed his PhD degree (Physics and Mathematics) at St Petersburg State University (Russia) in 1977. Since 1996 he has been researching the modelling of fluid dynamics, heat transfer and combustion processes in internal combustion engines. He has supervised 12 successful PhD completions over the past 12 years. In 1994, he was elected Fellow of the Institute of Physics. He is the author of over 400 research publications, mainly in international refereed journals, including 2 monographs.

Providing a clear and systematic deillegalscription of droplets and spray dynamic models, this book maximises reader insight into the underlying physics of the processes involved, outlines the development of new physical and mathematical models, and broadens understanding of interactions between the complex physical processes which take place in sprays.

Complementing approaches based on the direct application of computational fluid dynamics (CFD), Droplets and Sprays treats both theoretical and practical aspects of internal combustion engine process such as the direct injection of liquid fuel, subcritical heating and evaporation.

Including case studies that illustrate the approaches relevance to automotive applications,  it is also anticipated that the described models can find use in other areas such as in medicine and environmental science.

1.-Introduction 2.-Spray Formation and Penetration 3.-Heating of Non-evaporating Droplets 4.-Heating and Evaporation of Mono-component Droplets 5.-Heating and Evaporation of Multi-component Droplets 6.-Kinetic Modelling of Droplet Heating and Evaporation 7.-Heating, Evaporation and Autoignition of Sprays.
