Dr. Shailza Singh is a scientist at the Bioinformatics and High Performance Computing Facility, NCCS, Pune, India. Her research chiefly focuses on the systems and synthetic biology of infectious diseases such as leishmaniasis. In this regard, her group is working to integrate the action of regulatory circuits, cross-talk between pathways, and non-linear kinetics of biochemical processes through mathematical modeling. Dr. Singh has been honored with the DBT RGYI, DST Young Scientist and INSA Bilateral Exchange Programme awards, and was selected by the DBT for a SAKURA EXCHANGE Programme in Science in the field of Artificial Intelligence and Machine learning to Tokyo in 2018. She serves as a reviewer for prestigious international grants such as the RCUK; for national grants from the DBT, DST and CSIR; and for several prominent international journals, e.g. Parasite and Vectors, PLOS One, BMC Infectious Disease, BMC Research Notes, Oncotarget, and the International Journal of Cancer.

Systems and Synthetic Immunology focuses on the similarities between biology and engineering at the systems level, which are important for applying engineering theories to biology problems. With the advent of new genomic techniques, there are numerous systematic investigations underway in the scientific world. This volume highlights techniques that can be used to effectively combine two of the most essential biological fields - Systems Biology and Synthetic Immunology.

The respective chapters discuss the role of synthetic immunology in biotechnology, production of biomaterials, and their use in vaccine delivery. Further topics include the importance of cytokines; the use of genomic engineering tools in immunotherapy; immunosensors; nanotherapeutics; and bioinformatics tools in biomedical applications. Given its scope, the book offers readers an up-to-date and comprehensive review of this unique and dynamic field of research.

Über den Autor

Dr. Shailza Singh works as Scientist E and In-Charge Bioinformatics and High Performance Computing Facility at NCCS, Pune, India. Her research area focuses on Systems and Synthetic biology of infectious disease, leishmaniasis, wherein, her group tries to integrate the action of regulatory circuits, cross-talk between pathways and non-linear kinetics of biochemical processes through mathematical modeling. The hypothesis laid down through in silico approaches are validated in invitro and in vivo conditions. She serves as reviewer for prestigious International grants such as RCUK and National grants from DBT, DST and CSIR. She has guided a number of post graduate students for their dissertation and produced several graduate students from her lab in the field of Computational, Systems and Synthetic Biology. She has been the recipient of DBT RGYI, DST Young Scientist and INSA Bilateral Exchange Programme. She was nominated by DBT for SAKURA EXCHANGE Programme in Science in the field of Artificial Intelligence and Machine learning to Tokyo in 2018.She serves as reviewer for international journals of repute. To name a few, such as Parasite and Vectors, Plos One, BMC Infectious Disease, BMC Research Notes, Oncotarget, International Journal of Cancer, Plos Neglected Tropical Disease, BMC Genomics, Scientific Reports etc.
