Hermia Barrington isn't content with keeping house or hosting endless tea parties. She wants adventure. It's 1894 - the height of industrialism, an era of unprecedented scientific discovery. Hemmy is determined to join her husband's expedition in search of the legendary creature, the Waterhorse. Nothing will stop her; not a secret society bent on stealing the Waterhorse for profit.
