Autor/Autorin: De Lucia Andrea

The author was born in Naples, Italy in 1990. He graduated in Physics at the University Federico II and obtained his PhD at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz, Germany. His main non scientific interests are music, literature and traveling.
Simulations of magnetization dynamics in a multiscale environment enable rapid evaluation of the Landau-Lifshitz-Gilbert equation. This approach can be applied to large systems with spin structures that vary on small length scales locally. The conventional micromagnetic simulation framework was expanded to include a multiscale solving routine. It selectively simulates different regions of a ferromagnetic sample according to the spin structures located within in order to employ a suitable discretization and use either a micromagnetic or an atomistic model.
