Numerous technologies and models have been proposed for bringing big data services to the cloud environment. However, the choice of these technologies is always application specific and determining fitness of a solution is a perplexing task which makes it necessary for the architects and designers to review the requirements and choose a solution currently available in the market. This book focuses on study of service model for Big data services in the Cloud and their classification based on the three models of Cloud (i.e. IaaS, PaaS, & SaaS). Challenges brought by these models have been combined and categorized on who takes care of the challenges. This text presents "Big Data Service Model for the Cloud", "Storage Space Estimation for Servicing Nodes", and "Replica Server Placement on Multiple Data Center" for big data applications
